With regular lesson attendance and practise at home, progress is rewarding for everyone involved.

Lessons are conducted from my studio at Enoggera, which features a Yamaha U5 professional upright piano as well as a digital piano. All levels of experience are welcome, whether you are a beginner, undertaking advancing levels, or resuming playing after time away from the instrument.

Beginner Students

I am a Licensed Encore Teacher, and teach the Encore On Keys program to all of my beginner students, through to approximately Grade 3 standard. After 12 months of lessons, beginner students are confident in playing along to backing tracks, have developed essential chord playing skills, and have experienced a wide range of musical foundation skills including solfege singing, body percussion, notation & rhythm reading, as well as transposition. The Encore on Keys Piano Series is a holistic approach involving whole-pattern learning, a strong rhythmic focus and a variety of contemporary and traditional styles. Advanced Levels

Piano lessons for advancing students focus on developing and fine-tuning musical and performance skills. These include piano technique, sound production, correct finger sequencing, pedalling, and awareness of musical phrasing & structures. Great care and preparation is taken when selecting repertoire for each individual student. This involves assessing the student's current technical ability, musical aptitude and learning goals, Repertoire is selected that is achievable, but that will also develop specific musical and pianistic skills.

Music Theory

Music theory lessons are available for students interested in expanding their knowledge in this area and for those looking to complete exam requirements. Theory lessons can be taken either in-person or online.
